Description

Ball bearing from Enduro Bearings® in size R8 (12.7 x 28.575 x 7.938 mm) for mounting drive wheels with a 1/2″ axle diameter.

Enduro Bearings is one of the leading manufacturers of ball bearings. They produce extremely durable and excellently sealed bearings. Many leading brands in the bicycle industry rely on bearings from Enduro Bearings.

Enduro Bearings bearings are always designed with the deepest grooves possible to accommodate the largest possible balls. They feature double lip seals that run in a micro groove and form a complete labyrinth to ensure long life and excellent protection against the elements. The two super-thin sealing lips reliably keep out water and contaminants (outer sealing lip) and retain grease (inner sealing lip).

The bearings have races made from a high-carbon 52100 chrome alloy.

Available with chrome steel balls or ceramic balls made of Si3N4. Ceramic balls have a significantly higher hardness and corrosion resistance and are approx. 40% lighter than steel balls. Chrome steel ball bearings are available in the two ball tolerance classes ABEC 3 and ABEC 5, whereby both classes are regarded as "precision standards". Compared to ABEC 3 balls, however, ABEC 5 balls have a much higher standard, which is reflected in a higher roundness and lower roughness.

The ABEC 5 bearings are also equipped with a VV seal: Enduro Bearings' lightest contact seal. A sealing concept that does not seal as well against weather influences as an LLB seal, but which enables the fastest rotation of the bearings manufactured by Enduro Bearings. The first choice for indoor use (e.g. wheelchair sports)!

The ball bearings with ceramic balls are only available with ABEC 5 standard and LLB seal.

For the storage of Steering axles we recommend the Enduro Bearings R8 MAX bearings, which can absorb significantly higher forces due to their fully spherical design.
