Description
Do you want hoses that are as reliable and environmentally friendly as possible?
Then Schwalbe tubes should be your first choice!
You can find out why below under “Things to know about Schwalbe inner tubes”. But first, here is some information on choosing the right inner tube:
Choosing the right hose size:
To ensure the high reliability of the inner tubes, it is important to choose the right size for the tyre.
Selection of the valve type:
As a rule, the hoses are available with the following three valve types. The hoses we sell all have a valve length of 40 mm.
- Sclaverand valve (SV), also known as Presta or French valve
- Autovalve (AV), also known as Schrader valve
- Schwalbe Clik Valve (SCV), Schwalbe's new valve for super easy inflation
Choice of design:
Some tube sizes are available as extralight versions. These are characterised by a lower weight compared to the Schwalbe standard inner tube, with the same reliability but slightly higher costs. Perfect for you if you want to be even more effortless on the road. You can recognise Extralight inner tubes by the black valve.
Things to know about Schwalbe inner tubes:
The inner tubes are made of butyl rubber (a very elastic and at the same time airtight synthetic rubber) and other additives. Thanks to the high quality of the additives and the high purity of the rubber compound, Schwalbe inner tubes are extremely airtight and elastic.
Each hose is stored inflated for at least 24 hours after production to test it for air retention. So you can rely on them!
All valves are nickel-plated, threaded and fitted with a rim nut and a valve cap. The valve cap protects the valve from dirt and you from possible injury (especially with the Sclaverand valve). The rim nut helps you when inflating as it prevents you from pushing the valve through the rim hole into the tyre.
Every Schwalbe inner tube is 100 per cent recyclable. Every new Schwalbe standard inner tube therefore already consists of around 20 per cent recycled raw material - without any loss of quality.
Interpretation of hose sizes:
The size information on the packaging and inner tube is very easy to interpret. The first number stands for the width, the second number stands for the diameter of the tyres for which the inner tube is suitable.
For example, a tube with the specification 40-559 is suitable for tyres with a width of 40 mm and an inner diameter of 559 mm. A certain Schwalbe inner tube is always suitable for a certain size range due to its high elasticity, which is why there can always be several size specifications on the packaging.
